Parktin offers an alternative solution to find parking, making it easy and more accessible. It does this by allowing people to rent out their unused car parking spaces, and matching those spaces to drivers searching for parking.
What is Parktin?
Parktin operates a marketplace that facilitates transactions between drivers and parking space owners.
It allows people to rent out their unused car parking spaces on that marketplace. Drivers searching for parking can then use the platform to book these spaces and see any updates in realtime. This enables a much larger network of parking spaces to become available to those searching for parking.
It is done without any construction, reduces environmental impact and stands to benefit the local economy.
How to find parking

Our mobile application will be released soon, we're currently finishing development and connecting with parking space owners.
In the future we will update our website so that bookings can be made on that too.
Drivers Requirements
The rented car parking space should just be used for parking your vehicle. The parking space should be left clean and tidy in the same condition it was found. In the event that you and the parking space owner meet, both parties should be respectful and courteous.
Payments
All payments should go through the Parktin platform, this is for the safety and records of all parties. If there are any issues with payments, or if a payment is being requested outside of the application, please inform us via customer-support@parktin.com
Best practices
In the event you know parking may be difficult, such as when a large event is taking place, we recommend pre-booking. This ensures you're able to park in advance, and gives the parking space owner a longer notice period.
How to rent out your space
Requirements
You must be the land owner or have the land owners permission to list the parking space on the platform.
For example, if you're renting a property, you should reach out to the landlord to ensure they are happy and have given permission for the space to be rented out on Parktin.
Obligations
You must ensure the space is accessible within the time period listed on the Parktin. The space should be clean and tidy, matching the details and facilities listed on the platform.
If the space requires a key/fob etc. we recommend the owner is present to provide access to the space.
Security
1. Keyguards
A cheap way of ensuring your parking space is accessible, whilst still maintaining security, is to use a secure keyguard box. This allows keys to be placed inside a wall mounted steel box, only accessible via a four digit code sent to the user after they have purchased access to the space.
2. Smart locks
Smart locks provide a way of ensuring accessibility without compromising on safety. They can be used to allow drivers access to a parking space, without providing a physical key, or having to be present. We recommend the use of a smart lock if your parking space requires security.
We are currently working with suppliers to ensure the best deals for those using Parktin.
2. CCTV
CCTV is both useful to the driver and parking space owner. In the event of an issue CCTV footage can be reviewed to see what happened.
Having CCTV covering the parking space is also listed as a feature of the space and may be the reason someone chooses this space over another. The features are listed on each space in the app and having accessible CCTV monitoring their vehicle validates a higher price associated with the space.

My space requires a council permit, is it allowed on the app?
Unfortunately council owned spaces wouldn't be permitted on the app. We're working hard to look more into this and see if anything can be done to allow these spaces.
When do I get paid for the bookings on my parking space?
Most payments will be sent immediately after the user has booked the space, in some rare cases this may take longer, so please allow up to 7-14 working days.
